In an unprecedented police operation, a family-run drugs gang responsible for distributing significant quantities of cannabis and cocaine has been dismantled. The gang, which operated in Burnley and Bradford, was led by Kingpin Junaid Khan.
Police Seize Huge Quantities of Drugs
The turning point in the investigation came when police raided the Khan family’s home last October. Officers discovered large amounts of cannabis and cocaine, as well as mobile phones and cash. Analysis of the phones revealed extensive drug dealing activities across the regions.
Leaders and Members Sentenced
The leader, Junaid Khan, has been sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison for conspiracy to supply cannabis and being concerned in the supply of cocaine. Other members of the gang, including Musa Khan and Trevor Smith, have also received prison sentences varying from one year and six months to seven years based on their levels of involvement.
Det Sgt Stu Peall of Lancashire Constabulary’s East Exploitation Team stated, “We will continue to crack down on those involved in drug supply in our communities and who prey on the vulnerable for their own greed. I hope these sentences encourage people to report suspicious activity, either directly to the police or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
Operation Warrior, a dedicated initiative by Lancashire Police supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw, aims to target and dismantle organized crime groups involved in various illegal activities such as drug trafficking, violence, and exploitation.
